The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a creative and passionate Digital Content & Videography Lead to join our team!
The role’s main purpose is to support the overall digital and commercial output at Somerset County Cricket Club (SCCC) and the Cooper Associates County Ground (CACG), with focus around digital innovation, videography and content creation. Additionally, to contribute to digital strategies and drive growth in the SCCC media output that builds lasting connections with supporters, partners and key stakeholders.
To give you a snapshot of what the role involves, you will be creating innovative and engaging digital content across various SCCC/CACG channels, including blogs, newsletters, social media, and the website, with a focus on producing high-quality videos that drive audience engagement, sales, and brand influence. You will help shape and maintain Somerset’s brand voice across platforms, identify new digital growth opportunities, and support broader business strategies to foster meaningful online connections. Building strong relationships with key stakeholders such as players, coaches, and commercial partners is essential, as is travelling to matches to deliver top-tier coverage and contribute to live streaming and content production, including interviews and matchday visuals.
Additionally, the role requires ongoing analysis of digital performance, competitor research, and the development of innovative strategies to keep SCCC at the forefront of social media trends, particularly through platforms like TikTok. You will contribute to the club’s digital roadmap, support the promotion of the CACG, manage day-to-day social media interactions, and handle non-matchday photography. You will also assist the commercial team and take a proactive role in content creation for both matchday and non-matchday activities, ensuring a dynamic and evolving digital presence that enhances the club’s visibility and engagement.
About You
Amongst other criteria, you’ll have strong creativity and idea generation skills, with proven experience in creating engaging content for digital and social platforms. You will have excellent communication and copywriting abilities, along with at least two years of professional experience using Adobe Creative Suite, particularly in video editing. You can thrive in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines, and be data-driven to monitor content performance. Additionally, strong relationship-building skills are essential for collaborating effectively and achieving results.
To thrive in this role, you’ll be highly passionate about videography, motivated, and take ownership of projects with a positive, determined, and structured approach to work. You’ll be capable of working autonomously and demonstrating initiative, while also being a collaborative team player. Your proactive attitude and dedication will ensure high-quality outputs and effective contributions to team goals.
