Hours: Min 40 hours per week, to include weekends, evenings and bank holidays as required

Salary: £27,000 per annum

Location: Taunton: Taunton Vale Sports Club (TVSC) / Cooper Associates County Ground (CACG)

The Role

We have a new, exciting opportunity for a passionate and self-motivated Skilled Grounds Person to join our Grounds Team.

The role's main purpose is to assist the Lead Grounds Person in the preparation of all the match pitches, training pitches and outfield of TVSC to first class standard. On a day-to-day basis you'll be assisting with the preparation and maintenance of playing surfaces, outfield and practice facilities at TVSC, use of covers, set up of practice nets and facilities, and machinery upkeep. You’ll also occasionally be required to assist the wider Grounds Team with these tasks at the CACG.

About you

Amongst other essential criteria, you'll need to have an NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Sports Turf (or equivalent) and demonstrable levels of experience working as a Grounds Person in similar sporting environments. You will have knowledge of modern sports turf processes and innovations, an understanding of what is required to prepare and maintain first-class sport surfaces, and an appreciation and understanding of agronomic principles in turf. You’ll need to have a PA1, PA2 or PA6 certificate, however if one of these are not yet achieved, the Club may assist you in obtaining the qualification.

You have a passion for sports turf maintenance, which is supported by your innovation and desire to continually improve. You are honest, loyal and reliable with the commitment to building good working relationships with colleagues.
