An exciting opportunity has arisen at Somerset County Cricket Club, to join our Sport Science and Medicine team. We are looking to recruit a Girl’s Pathway Lead Strength & Conditioning Coach
You will be responsible for planning, programming and delivering a physical development programme that optimises the physical progression of pathway players, along with focus on wider strategy around long-term athletic development with considerations around female growth and maturation. You’ll work in close collaboration with the wider SS&M team, Women’s Senior S&C, Pathway Physiotherapist, Girl’s Academy Lead and Director of Talent and Development to ensure players have the physical qualities to transition into the professional game.
Amongst other essential criteria, you'll need to have an undergraduate qualification within the sporting field (or equivalent), and a postgraduate qualification (or equivalent) in strength and conditioning or be working towards this. You will need to have, or be working towards, UKSCA accreditation. Alongside this, you will have demonstrable experience delivering strength and conditioning programmes in the sporting environment, in particular youth development
To thrive in this role, you'll be approachable, reflective and empathetic with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively. You are organised, diligent and motivated. You can work under pressure and have strong decision-making capabilities.
Given the nature of the role, any appointment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check. If no ECB DBS is already in place, this check will be carried out by the Club.
Please note that working hours will include evenings, weekends and bank holidays, along with domestic and potential international travel.
You will need to be eligible to work in the UK.
